Welcome to the JASON Store.

A nonprofit subsidiary of the National Geographic Society, The JASON Project connects students with great explorers and great events to inspire and motivate them to learn science. JASON works with NASA, NOAA and National Geographic to develop multimedia science curricula based on their cutting-edge missions of exploration and discovery. By providing educators with those same inspirational experiences - and giving them the tools and resources to better teach science - JASON seeks to reenergize them for a lasting, positive impact on students.

Now Available! Operation: Resilient Planet

Earth is an exciting tapestry of ecosystems - all interconnected and constantly changing - and many under threat. What threatens the survival of life here on Earth? Can humans affect the planet's natural ability to thrive? How can we help ecosystems stay healthy?

Operation: Resilient Planet puts students on a mission to investigate the health of our environment and discover how to protect our planet's ecosystems. Students will visit some of Earth's most diverse ecosystems to uncover the mysteries of our planet - side by side with host researchers such as Bob Ballard and Sylvia Earle.

Join the Argonaut Team as they snorkel over a coral reef in the Gulf of Mexico, investigate alien invaders in the Great Lakes, protect whales in the Atlantic Ocean, discover why there are so many sharks on the reefs of Hawaii and help restore the threatened Chesapeake Bay.

Operation: Resilient Planet is an ecology curriculum unit based on National Science Education Standards including Science as Inquiry, Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, Science in Personal and Social Perspectives, and History and Nature of Science. The complete curriculum will include print, video, online games, labs and field work - plus an interactive Web site, the JASON Mission Center, where students from across the globe can put their knowledge to work and take the Argonaut Challenge.

We are currenlty taking orders. Please see order form.

Operation: Monster Storms will transport classrooms to the center of Earth's most extreme weather events. You will join some of the world's leading weather researchers in the field to study the mechanics of weather in an exciting, standards-based, multimedia curriculum developed with NASA, NOAA and National Geographic. Designed for grades 5-8 (but with the flexibility for teachers to adapt to higher/lower levels), the curriculum covers key National Science Education Standards for Physical Science as it focuses on connecting students with great explorers and great events through:

  • Hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms and lightning
  • Weather dynamics and storm formation
  • Forecasting, warnings and safety precautions
  • Extreme weather impact and human interaction
  • Climate and global monitoring
For more information on Operation: Monster Storms, please go to our site at www.jason.org. Operation: Monster Storms can be ordered online or we accept purchase orders. Please see order form.

Also available is the 2-disk DVD set from Host Researcher Tim Samaras, Driven By Passion. The set includes all of Tim's best video including the destructive tornado that destroyed the town of Manchester, South Dakota, and a first-ever peek inside a tornado.
